Dr. Matthew Linton – Walden

Growing up, Matthew learned first hand from his mother – a NICU nurse – the important role doctors play in impacting the health and lives of people. He believes in taking a collaborative approach to patient care, viewing each individual patient as the driver of their health, while he is there as a passenger to help support and provide guidance on how to achieve a healthy and happy lifestyle. Matthew understands that everyone comes from different backgrounds and beliefs which need to be incorporated into a person’s individual health needs.

Matthew originally started his residency training as a specialist, but transitioned to family medicine because he missed the wide scope of practice, which brings new challenges with every appointment. He says the best part of his job is getting to treat entire families and watching them grow.

Matthew earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Indiana University, completed Medical School at the University of Calgary, and did his residency at the University of Alberta. Outside the office he loves spending time with his family, including his three young children, two of which are twins. When he’s not chasing after his kids, Matthew enjoys getting on the ice to play hockey whenever he can.
